A few ideas for what you could to do with those carved pumpkins before they go soggy is to compost them, or give them to nature and let the birds and animals take what they need as the weather gets colder. Try not to leave them on the floor however as hedgehogs get an upset tummy from pumpkin as much as they enjoy them.
If you fancy trying some roasted pumpkin seeds, a little suggestion is to try washing and then drying them, cover the seeds in some melted butter with a small amount salt and roast them for around 45mins on a baking tray, gas mark 6/200c!!
Also a reminder to check bonfires before they are lit for sleeping hedgehogs –

Instead of throwing out or bagging up (to gather dust) all those clothes children quickly grow out of this is a brilliant website to buy or sell unwanted children clothes. It is run by a busy mum who also knows what it’s like with ever growing children and the endless amount of clothes children accumulate.
‘Last year a quarter of the clothing we got rid of was simply thrown away. That’s a staggering 300,000 tonnes that went into landfill. So many of those items could have been re-used and enjoyed by a another child, instead of contributing to the destruction of the planet.’
