Welcome to the CrowdLeaf Newsletter, what a week, we have done so much and the green community is going from strength to strength.

In this CrowdLeaf Newsletter we will start with what we have been involved with, including supporting  a campaigin to end plastics in Supermarkets, we have a a great piece written by Simon Goldsmith who started the petition for supermarkets to stop using non-recyclable food packaging. We at CrowdLeaf fully support the aims of this petition so please join us in signing and supporting this great campaign! Ryan was on VoiceFM 103.9FM on Thursday doing his usual monthly radio show,a version of which can be found here.

For locals in members in Southampton, please look out for the Recycling Mixed Banks In Southampton to make sure you do your bit to recycle everything you can and regardless of where your based you can keep an eye out for bins like this. Councils are getting the message, if ti can be recycled it should. Crowdeaf also ask you encourage your work places to tackle to problem too, its never been easier to ditch plastic cups, as so many workplaces now are, maybe your teams could bring their own or the company could invest in long life products instead of disposable ones,  labeled mugs or glass alternatives all of which are reasonably priced.

There are some great events coming up so if you fancy helping out or learning a bit more about the environment etc take a look at our events section. which follows these news stories.

Organic Veg Box Finder – Soil Association

Instead of throwing out or bagging up (to gather dust) all those clothes children quickly grow out of this is a brilliant website to buy or sell unwanted children clothes. It is run by a busy mum who also knows what it’s like with ever growing children and the endless amount of clothes children accumulate.

‘Last year a quarter of the clothing we got rid of was simply thrown away. That’s a staggering 300,000 tonnes that went into landfill. So many of those items could have been re-used and enjoyed by a another child, instead of contributing to the destruction of the planet.’
